This is a Mechanical Bank made by the J. It was originally called the “Kicking Mule” until later when the name was changed to “I Always Did’Spise A Mule”. Was designed by James Bowen and has some of the best action of all the mechanical banks. Overall in excellent condition. Place a coin underneath the seated boy. When the lever is pressed the mule kicks up and out and turns counter clockwise facing the opposite direction. In addition, this causes the boy to fall backward as though kicked by the mule. The coin slides into the base. Action is fast and realistic. The bank works well and has the Stevens’ coin trap. Bank is 10″ long, 3 1/2″ wide and 6 1/2 high.
